A Study on Pharmaceutical Administration in Korea

Abstract
This study was carried out to analyse and evaluate the present status of the pharmaceutical administration in Korea.
The survey was performed from 20th May to 9th August 1966 for the organization and function of central and local level of pharmaceutical administration.
Following conclusions were made through the analysis of the present status and fact-finding.
1) The organization of pharmaceutical administration, both central and locla, should be adjusted for the uniformity and improvement of the pharmaceutical system.
2) Laymen engaging into pharmaceutical administration should be replaced by the specialized pharmaceutical personnel.
3) The unbalanced number of pharmacist should be controlled by the decreasing the number of graduates from college of pharmacy.
4) The standard of facilities of pharmaceutical plants should be enhanced while the unqualified production must be provented.
For the production of illegal medicine, punishment should be grave.
5) Personnels, and facilities equipments of the National Institute of Health should be to strengthened for the official approval and checking of all kinds of drug and medicine.
6) The advertisement of the medicine which should be used by the prescription of physician must be limited to the professional journals or medical periodicals and not to general mass communification systems.
7) The excessive expenditure for the competive advertisement should be restrained for the development of pharmaceutical production.
8) Narcotic inspection team should be stationed in the area where narcotic addicts concentrate, so as the team would perform the activities of detecting the source of narcotic outflow and grasping the exact number of narcotic addicts. In this direction, proper control measures for narcotics would be planned.
9) In order to prevent the inflow of narcotic into our country, the inspectors should be dispatched to Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan from where the narcotic smugglings may be possible.
10) The manufacturing of synthetic narcotics would be recommended instead of natural narcotics as for its exact demand and supply.
11) To prevent the abuse and misuse of medicines, the specialization of medicine from pharmacy should be studied.
